Carl Richard W. Carl, age 54, beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and colleague, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2004 after a courageous battle with heart disease. Survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kathy (Montgomery) Carl; and sons, Casey (Jamie Carl), Matt (Seri Nerison) and Eric. Preceded in death by father, Ralph Carl; and father-in-law, Robert Montgomery. Survived by mother, LuVerne "Dolly" (Roberts) Carl, Minot, ND; brothers, Jon (Mary) Carl, Grand Forks, ND, and Dave Carl, Minot,ND; sister, Mary Carl Ramirez (John), Minneapolis; and mother-in-law, LaVonne "Tiny" Montgomery, Grand Forks, ND. Rich was born in Grand Forks on December 2, 1949. He was a graduate of the University of North Dakota in Business Administration and was employed as Executive Vice President of Wiseway Transportation Services. Rich's favorite activity was spending time with family and friends. He and Kathy enjoyed traveling, especially to the ocean, and taking walks on the beach. Most of all, he loved watching his sons' sporting events and was their number one fan. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Burnsville. Rich had a great mix of dry wit and German stubbornness. He was a great listener and mentor to many. He is loved deeply and will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Methodist Hospital Heart and Vascular Center, Ronald McDonald House, and Minneapolis Parks. Services will be held on Monday, at 11 am in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13901 Fairview Dr., Burnsville with his visitation being held an hour prior to the service in the Church.
