Berglin, Bruce L. Born Nov. 21, 1937, passed away at home on Aug. 28, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Bruce was born in Des Moines, IA to Harlan and Doris Berglin. He grew up in Minneapolis, graduated from Washburn High School, and attended college at Winona State and the University of MN. Bruce worked at the USPS for 30 years as a postal clerk. He retired in 1992, worked part time and played golf. He spent the last 14+ years battling Alzheimer's disease. Through it all, his kindness, good nature and love for Shirley remained. A very special thanks from Bruce's family to the caregivers at St. Croix Hospice. Your care and compassion made this last chapter of his life bearable for him and his family. Bruce loved ice cream, golfing, Twins baseball, good times, a cold beverage and country music. He loved spending time at the cabin in Alexandria. Most of all he loved his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Shirley, daughters Lisa Fay and Wendy Becker (Mike), son Terry (Kacie), grandchildren Kyle, Cory, Aaron, Miranda, Jenna, Ellie, Brooke and Brody, his dog Rambo, sister Marilyn, sisters-in-law Ruby (Ron), Charlotte (Don), and (Marty), many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Paralyzed Veterans of America, or St. Croix Hospice. Service to be held on Friday, Sept. 5 at 11:00 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Rd, Golden Valley. Visitation at 10:00. Private burial at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria.
