Ruth Marie (Forsberg) Olson

Olson Ruth Marie (Forsberg) Olson of Sun City, Arizona, died on Saturday, May 15, 2004. She was born on October 26, 1919, in Lake City, MN, the only daughter of Axel and Wenonah Forsberg. Ruth grew up on a family farm in Stockholm, WI. She graduated from Lake City High School. Ruth married Erik Olson in 1940 and lived in St. Louis Park. She worked for General Mills and was active in her church, Edina Covenant Church. Ruth retired with Erik to Sun City, AZ, in 1980. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Erik Olson. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Jim Hutchinson, Tucson, AZ; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Susan Olson, Plymouth, MN, and Gary Olson and Mary Gagnon, Duluth, MN; nine grandchildren, Laurie Gustafson and her husband, John; Jean Legler and her husband, Kevin; Maia Goodwell, Erica Olson, Peter Olson, Kayla Olson, Anne Olson, Reid Olson, and Amber Olson; and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2004, at 1:00 pm at Covenant Village, Golden Valley. Memorials may be made to Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis.
