Nelson Gary Adrian Nelson was born on April 5, 1953 in Marshall, MN to Darrell and Joyce (Johnson) Nelson. In November of 1953, the family moved to Fergus Falls. In Gary's junior year of high school the family moved to Hutchinson where Gary graduated. He attended school at Bemidji State and later at the University of Minnesota. Gary made Minneapolis his home. For the past ten years he worked for Mortenson Construction. He enjoyed golfing, going to Ottertail Lake for fishing & swimming, and spending time with his friends. Gary is survived by his mother, Joyce of Canby; siblings, Connie (Brad) Hastings of Otter Tail, MN, Nancy (Todd) Johnson of Otter Tail, MN, Susan (David) Eastman of Wickenberg, AZ; significant other, Judy Roseen; nephews, Jesse Eastman, Noah Johnson and Robert Stock; nieces, Czesia Van Meter, Erin Eastman and Amy Stock; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell; grandparents, Walter and Lillian Johnson and Arden and Stella Nelson; and his nephew, Jeremy. Services Saturday 5/22 at 11 AM, Hope Lutheran Church, Minneota, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church.
