Barnard Leon W. Barnard, 77, Sartell, MN, died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. Leon was born May 13, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN to Thorpe and Leone (Lege) Barnard. He married Arlyne Quist on March 12, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN. Leon was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 39 years. Leon served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Waite Park American Legion Post #428, and Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include his wife, Arlyne Barnard of Sartell, MN; daughters, Susan (Ron) Daniels of Sartell, MN, JoAnn (Steve) Quinn of Tracy, CA; four grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
