Verl was a partner in Thews Construction & Drainage Co. and later, was a sales rep for Lutheran Brotherhood in the Clara City area. He is survived by his wife, Orpha of Clara City; son, Michael (& Brenda Roe) Thews of Coon Rapids, MN; grandsons, David & Andrew Thews; 2 sisters, Charlotte Thews of Clara City and Marlene (& Pastor Darold) Beekmann of Edina.
