Peller Edith Davis, 88, died peacefully at home at 4:15 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2003, attended by her devoted friends and caretakers, Bonnee Lee and Janice Blaska. She was the widow of Sike Peller. She is survived by her only daughter, Margo Peller Feeley and her grandchildren, Jacob and Miriam Feeley, as well as her two sisters, Ruth Hunter and Evelyn Abramson and her brother, Sam Davis. Edie was born on July 8, 1914, in the middle of a summer thunderstorm in North Minneapolis. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Minnesota with a degree in social work, but her true loves were home-making, literature, nature, birds, and gardening. She remodeled a farmhouse which was featured in a national magazine. She was an early ecologist and an enthusiastic member of The Nature Conservancy, for which she helped purchase a heron rookery.
