Heinrich Margaret "Mardie" Heinrich, 93, formerly of Mpls, MN, passed away at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone, IA on Thursday morning, February 20, 2003 due to complications of pneumonia. She had been a resident at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone since May of 1995. She was born on December 8, 1909 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Ernest and Julia (Balance) Watson. On July 28, 1928, she married John T. Heinrich at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Mpls, MN. Mardie was a homemaker who was loved dearly by her family and all who knew her. She was a Charter member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a member of the University of Minnesota Women's Club, Edina Women's Club, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Edina Country Club, Minikahda Club, and the Minneapolis Club. During World War II, Mardie served as a Red Cross volunteer. Her parents, 1 brother in infancy, husband, John in February of 1993, and 1 grandson, John H. Nelson in September of 1997 preceded her in death. Survivors include 2 daughters, Joanne Nelson & her husband Jack of Boone, IA, Pat Darrell & her husband Dave of Edina, MN, 4 granddaughters, Terry Mikutowski & her husband Steve of Stillwater, MN, Ann Borwick & her husband Ron of Johnston, IA, Michelle Nelson of Boone, IA, Julie Nelson of Austin, TX, 1 grandson, Ward Nelson & his wife Rhonda of Boone, Iowa, and 10 great-grandchildren. The body has been cremated. A time of sharing with the family will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Edina, MN one hour prior to the memorial service to be held Monday, March 3, 2003 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Robert Schwartz officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN. Memorials may be given to Sharing and Caring Hands, 525 North 7th, Mpls, MN 55405. Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone, Iowa is handling arrangements.
