Nelson Marvin J. `Joe' or `Bud' Nelson, 77, died at home February 22, 2002 after a courageous fight with heart and kidney failure. ``God saw the pain was getting rough and Bud gently closed his tired eyes and whispered ``enough''. Bud was a veteran of World War II serving in the army as a Sgt. Major. He was owner, president and master plasterer of Joe Nelson Stucco Co. Inc., of Minneapolis metro area for 65 years. He also owned and operated Bud Nelson Construction of Lee County, Ft. Myers, FL., for 48 winters. Mr. Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Evie; his daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Ron Newquist; his son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Mary Nelson; his grandchildren, Matt and Mindy Newquist, Jacob, Joey, Jared Nelson; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and Ralph Strike, Jean and Merlyn Johnson. A memorial funeral service will be conducted at McGregor Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 27 at 11 am with Pastor John Davis officiating.
