James Parkhurst Nelson

Nelson James Parkhurst, age 78, passed away Feb. 19, 2002. As a Marine in WWII, he served his country proudly and was awarded the Purple Heart. A graduate of Hamline University, he was a teacher, coach, great leader and avid golfer. He retired after many years with 3M. Survived by loving wife, Janis; children, Sally (Benjamin) Cohen, Robert (Lynn) Nelson, Polly Young, John Nelson, William (Darcy) Nelson; sister, Shirley Thorn; grandchildren, David, Joshua, Aaron, Krissa, Kacie. A special thank you to Linda Kowalski and the wonderful staff on 1 North at the Ohio Veterans Home. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
