Lucia Heffelfinger deGrazia

deGrazia Lucia Heffelfinger deGrazia, died Sun., Feb. 10 in a fire at her house at Constitution Hill, Princeton. She died just before her 76th birthday on Feb. 25. She was predeceased by her late husband, Sebastian deGrazia who died on New Year's Eve, 2000. Born in Mpls., MN, daughter of Eliabeth & Peavey Heffelfinger, she was raised there until she moved to Princeton in 1948 with her 1st husband, John W. Ballantine. She was active in many voluntary organiations over the years. She worked extensively in corrections and help found the Center for Women in Politics. She is survived by her 2 children, John W. Ballantine Jr. and Lucia P. Ballantine; her 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth & Anna Walder; and 5 step-children of Sebastian deGrazia. Services to be held at Noon on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Trinity Church on Mercer St. A reception will follow at the Nassau Club.
