Jonn Olai Fure

Fure Jonn Olai Fure, age 65, a long-time resident of Bloomington, died on February 12, 2003. Jonn was born on April 11, 1937 in Steigen, Norway. He immigrated to the United States in 1957. He was a successful entrepreneur. He founded Jonn Fure Construction. He later worked as a successful real estate agent and in retirement worked at Cub Foods. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bowling, playing cards, and growing rose bushes. (Ask Joanne/Anne for any other little tidbits). He was preceded in death by his mother and father in Norway; his brothers, Ludolf, Johannes, Trygve and Alf; sister-in-law, Kari. He is survived by his daughter, Joanne; the mother of his daughter, Anne Cates; sister, Edna (Terje) Gronbech of Norway; sisters-in-law, Ingrid Solvang of Norway, and Beatrice Fure of Shakopee, MN; nieces and nephews in the USA, Johannes (Stacy), David (Barbara), Rolf (Ann), Karin (Tom), and Ruth (Kirk); many nieces and nephews in Norway; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. His warm blue eyes, smile, laughter and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Private services were held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
