Stewart Robert Steven Stewart, age 54, died on February 12, 2002 from complications due to AIDS. Born on October 24, 1948 in Albia, Iowa to A. Eugene Stewart, Jr. and M. Lucille (Silver) Stewart, Robert moved to the Twin Cities in 1972 where he worked as a city bus driver, for Jax Cafe for many years, and owned his own A&W restaurant in Columbia Heights. His mother preceded Robert in death. He is survived by his father, four brothers, three sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, and many good friends who became his family throughout his life in the Twin Cities, and especially during his battle with AIDS. A memorial service for Robert will be held at All God's Children Metropolitan Community Church, 3100 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16.
