Burkhart Dr. Chester William Burkhart, age 85, born Feb. 26, 1917 to John & Anna Burkhart in Chaska. graduate of U of MN Dental School in 1939. Practiced dentistry in N Mpls. Was Naval Reserve Officer for 18 years. Married Madalyn K. Turner on Feb. 14, 1942. Had active duty for 54 months in WWII with the Navy and 5th Marine Division. Returned and again had a dental clinic in N Mpls. Was a past president of Mpls North Dental Society. Member of American Legion Post 251, Northside Commercial Club, and West Broadway Business Club. Robbinsdale Civil Air Patrol, commercial instrument pilot, glider and helicopter ratings, Pilot 65 years. Survived by his wife; sons, Bill of Milwaukee, and John of Mpls; daughter, Sally Finstrom of Princeton; 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter, Diane. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday at the funeral chapel with visitation 5-8 PM Thursday and 1 hour before Mass. Vigil prayer service 7 PM Thursday. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
