Chester Hanley Holtan

Holtan Chester Hanley Holtan, age 87, of Minneapolis, MN passed away, Saturday, February 1, 2003. Survived by wife of 64 years, Gladys L.; 3 sons, Lynn "Skip" Doug (Gail) and Mark (friend Diane); 2 grandchildren, Tracy (Michael) McCormick, and Katie (Chris) Philippi; 5 great-grandchildren, Dominik, Savanna, Isabella, Tori and Maggie, all from the Twin Cities. Born March 26, 1915 Wheaton, MN, grew up in Waterville, MN. An employee of Northwest Airlines for 39 years starting in radio maintenance then as a pilot and flight instructor for 31 years. After retiring from NWA, spent 12 years in executive management of Cedar Creek Oil and Gas Co., Faribault, MN. Family expresses our appreciation to the employees of the St. Louis Park Plaza Healthcare Center who provided Chester with loving professional care for the last 15 months of his life. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 6, 2003 at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church, 5760 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, any memorials are preferred to Tasks Unlimited (supports employment and housing for people in recovery from mental illness or brain injury), or donor's choice.
