Forberg Marian L., age 81, called home to heaven on Feb. 2, 2003. Mary's life was one of service to others as a nurse/social worker at Dowling School in Mpls, and as a volunteer at her church, The American Swedish Institute, Third World Jubilee, and many other groups. Mary was creative in knitting, silversmithing, woodworking, bobbin lace and music. She loved the outdoors, especially the Tree House at Eagles Nest Lake. There's a saying that Swedish is the language of the angels... now Mary will be able to speak Swedish as often as she likes. A gracious friend and listener, Mary was a wonderful example of Philippians 4:11 "For I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content." Preceded in death by sister, Ruth. Survived by brothers, Richard (Gail) of Ohio, Charles (Elizabeth) of New York, Walter (Elaine) of Washington; 5 nieces, 3 nephews, and special friends, Pat Van Sistine and Glen Enos. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Lake Harriet United Methodist Church, 4901 Chowen Ave S., Mpls, Thursday at 3 pm. Memorials preferred to the church, Allina Hospice, or donor's choice.
