Wanous Loren "Ted", age 81, died January 19, 2003. Born June 15, 1921 near Sisseton, SD to Louis and Rose Wanous. Preceded in death by his mother and father; siblings, Irene Dahl, Irvin Wanous, Edwin Wanous, LeRoy Wanous, George Wanous and Rachel Wanous. Survived by wife, DeEtta "Dotty"; and 1 brother, Wayne (Pearl) Wanous; brother-in-law, Verland Dahl; sister-in-law, Fern Wanous; niece, Ruth (Charles) Eggen; nephew, Merlin (Carol) Dahl, and other relatives and friends. He grew up in the Sisseton, SD area, served in the 86th Infantry in WWII, attaining the rank of staff sergeant and received a bronze star. After retiring from military service he married DeEtta "Dotty" Arndt in 1946 and moved to Minneapolis. He opened a dry cleaning business in 1947 and continued in business in the 43rd and Upton area of Minneapolis until his retirement. Ted was a lifetime member of VFW and American Legion, enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and dancing. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 11:00 AM at Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Ave S. 612-825-2435.
