Carlson, Donald R. "Don" age 85, of Minnetonka, passed away November 22, 2017. Preceded in death by parents Art and Lil (nee Nelson) Carlson, brothers Ken (Carol) and Ray, and sister Shirley Walker. Survived by wife of 64 years, Clare, sons Craig (Elizabeth) and Nels (Beth), grandsons Wyatt and Owen, sister Audrey (Bill) Branch, brother-in-law Bill Walker, and many other relatives and friends. Don was born in St. Paul and graduated from Breck School. After graduating from Hamline University he was drafted by the US Army and was a Korean war veteran. Don will be remembered for his droll sense of humor, his love for his family and his community service. Don was a founding member of the White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church and a longtime member of Hopkins Rotary. He cherished his 8 years as a mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters. During four summers, Don and Clare volunteered at MS Week at Camp Courage. Don had a lifetime career in sales, most recently for 15 years as Broker Owner of Tonka Realty. Memorial Service Monday, December 4, 11 AM, at Washburn-McReavy Chapel, 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins, with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Memorials preferred to Hopkins Rotary or MS Society of MN.
