Thiede, Martin B. 96, Edina, Minnesota. Died on Oct. 6, 2017. Martin lived a full life with optimism and determination. His entrepreneurial activities impacted the skyline of downtown Minneapolis where his construction company participated in projects including the Metrodome Stadium, Federal Reserve, and Orchestra Hall. After retirement he served on the board of RJ Ryan Construction for 25 years. Martin was a loving husband and father remaining committed to his family throughout life. Born in Mankato to Herman and Dollie Thiede he was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marge Dexheimer, his wives, Irene Sophie in 1971 and Mary Jane in 2014, and his son David Thiede in 2004. He is survived by two sisters, Helen Wallace and Dolores Chupka, his loving children Gwen O'Connor, Marty Thiede, Jr., Liz Heywood, and Denise Thiede, step son James Fair, his grandchildren Mel Wise, Marty and David Thiede, Ellie Heywood, Lucia Selb, Anna Thiede, and seven great grandchildren. We will miss his positive attitude, his cheerful songs and poems, and his willingness to challenge each of us.
