Morrissey, William J. 91, passed away August 22, 2017. Born February 5, 1926, he was the only child of William J. and Lucille (Hatin) Morrissey. During WWII, William proudly served his country in the US Army Air Force, 9th Airborne Division, being honorably discharged in 1946. William and his late wife, Theresa, lived in Champlin, Minnesota for 20 years before moving to Belchertown 15 years ago. For the past 4 years, William had been at Providence Place in Holyoke. William worked as a ceramist developing glass to metal seals for GE and Medtonic. In 2013, William was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Theresa L. (Supranowicz), and will be missed by his two daughters, Lisa Enger and her husband Ron of Lynnfield, MA and Sheila Blanker and her husband Charles of Northfield, MA. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Keith, Brian and wife Meghan, Scott and wife Jamie, Ryan and Eric, and 2 great grandchildren, Lauren and Jack. A private service will be held at a future date and Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
