Hammett, Clarence M. age 91, passed away at Friendship Village, Bloomington, MN on Sept. 4, 2017. Clarence was born on the family farm to Ursula Bellig and Clarence Hammett, Sr. Clarence attended country school and graduated from Springfield High School in 1943. He attended the University of MN for 2 years until enlisting in the Navy. Clarence married Phyllis Nelson in 1952. He was employed by various shops until he found his calling with the Boy Scouts of America until his retirement. Clarence enjoyed woodworking, traveling, telling many wonderful stories and just being with his friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Phyllis, 2 sisters, Cheryl Hofmeister and Diane Runck; and his son, Howard. Services will be held at Centennial Methodist Church, 1524 W. County Road C-2, Roseville, Sept. 14, 2017 with a memorial service at 10:30 AM and burial service at Fort Snelling at 12:45 PM.
