Roger J. Leaf

Leaf, Roger J. age 83, of Minneapolis, MN left this earth to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 31st, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Adeline Leaf; and by his spouse Ruth E. Leaf. He is survived by his children, Kris (Patti), Karl (Monika), Amy (Paul) and grandchildren, Sophie, Eva, Max, Maya, Zack, Kaz, Nico, Gabe. Born February 3rd 1934, Roger attended Roosevelt High School, graduating in 1951. He was in the Navy for two years aboard the USS Newport News, and attended college at Hamline. He was a social worker for many years with Hennepin county, and a long time usher at church. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a sparkle in his eye. He was an avid reader and history buff. One of his favorite hobby's was his cars, when he was not keeping them meticulously clean, he was often daydreaming of his next trade in. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held Saturday Sept 9th at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church 5025 Knox Ave S Minneapolis MN 55419. Visitation 10am, Service 11am with luncheon to follow.
