Haycraft, Sandra Kay (DeWitt) passed away peacefully on August 6th in her home in White Bear Lake in the company of her loved ones. Sandra is survived by her husband Tom; her daughter, Dr. Kimberly Schmotters; her sister Germaine DeWitt; her sister-in-law Donna DeWitt, and 5 grandchildren. Sandra was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lawrence and Vivian DeWitt; her brother Larry; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon and Mary Haycraft; her son Steven and grandson Zachary. Sandra was born on January 18, 1946 and graduated from Patrick Henry Highschool, Minneapolis, and Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she obtained a teaching degree. She worked as both a teacher and a realtor, and was an ardent advocate for the mentally and physically disabled. She was known for her gentle and caring nature and genuine smile, touching the lives of many during her life. A special thanks is extended to the staff at Health East In-Home Hospice, for going above and beyond to help Sandra and Tom in their time of need. Sandra's celebration of life will be held at Church of St. Pius X, 3878 Highland Ave., White Bear Lake on Friday, August 18th at 11:00 a.m., with the visitation an hour prior to service. It was Sandra's wish that memorial contributions be given to any organization of the donor's choice that benefits the disabled.
