Schermann, Robert Douglas age 80, of Howard Lake passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at his residence. He was born on July 15, 1937 in Watertown the son of Louis and Agnes (Keglar) Schermann. At the age of 8, Bob contracted polio and was in and out of the hospital for the next two years. Despite his adversities in life, he accomplished a lot. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1955 and later attended The Minnesota School of Business. On August 13, 1960, Robert Schermann and Lucille Keigan were joined in holy marriage at St. John's Catholic Church in Darwin. God blessed their marriage with two daughters. Bob was employed for thirty-five years at Model Stone & Ready Mix and at Aggregate Industries as an accountant. He also worked for nineteen years in shoe repair. Bob and Lucy enjoyed wintering in Tucson, Arizona for twenty years. He served on the Howard Lake-Waverly School Board for six and a half years, The Wright County Board of Adjustments for twenty five years and served as chairman for many of those years. Bob enjoyed gardening, canning, the out of doors, had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh! He was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly. Survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years: Lucille "Lucy" Schermann; daughters: Deborah Schermann of St. Anthony Park and Joy (Jeff) Shockley of Howard Lake; grandchildren: Matthew Schermann (Princess Bautista) of Tucson, Arizona, Samuel Sween and Ava Matthews both of St. Anthony Park; a great grandchild: Rylee Schermann of Tucson, Arizona; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 14, 2017. Private Inurnment Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted. Visitation on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 9 AM until 10:45 AM AT THE CHURCH. Honorary Bearers will be Michael Zachmann, Steven Zachmann, Daniel Zachmann, Lanny Lachermeier, Ronald Zachmann and Garner Diers. Urn Bearer will be Michael Zachmann.
