McGillivray, Donald John May 3, 1932 - July 14, 2017 Donald John McGillivray, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, died at the Minneapolis VA Hospital on July 14, 2017 after recently being diagnosed with leukemia. Don was born on May 3, 1932 in LeRoy, MN, the son of Donald D. McGillivray and Irene Holmberg McGillivray. Don grew up in LeRoy on the Beaver Park Cattle Farm owned and operated by his parents. He graduated from LeRoy High School in 1950 and attended the University of Minnesota. He served in the US Army. He then became a Tool and Die Maker and was eventually promoted to Machine Services Supervisor at Honeywell, where he retired after 35 years. Don had a deep love and commitment to God and his family. He is survived by his sister Nancy, his wife Virginia, his children Mary, Linda, Robert, Kathleen, Lisa, and James, and his grandchildren John, Grace, Jack, Michael, and Hunter. Don's memorial will be held at the Presbyterian Homes, 3200 Lake Johanna Blvd., Arden Hills, MN on Sat. August 19 at 2:00 pm. Don will be missed by all who knew him for his wise, eccentric, charitable, and adventurous spirit as well as his determination to live life to its fullest.
