John Joosten, Jr.

Joosten, John, Jr. of Walker, MN was taken home on angel's wings Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the age of 95. John peacefully passed with loving family valedictions. Born November 18, 1921 to Johann Janssen Joosten and Ora Joosten of Germany. The family immigrated to the United States in 1923. John enlisted in the Army in 1941 during WWII. John will be lovingly remembered by his children, John Richard (Lani) Joosten, Nancy Joosten, and Mark (Deb) Joosten, seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, extended family, friends and dear friend Marion. Waiting to greet him in heaven are his parents, brothers Richard and Henry, sister-in-law Eileen Joosten and former spouse Dorothy Joosten, and 20-year companion Helen Stenzel. Funeral services will be held Friday August 18, 2017 9AM, Fort Snelling Chapel, 1 Tower Ave. Minneapolis, MN. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery, staging 4 at 12:30pm.
