Esther Mae (Barrett) Kraskin

Kraskin, Esther Mae (nee Barrett) Born in Cohasset, MN, on Feb. 2, 1918. Passed away on July 21, 2017 at Friendship Village in Bloomington after a long, wonderful life. She left Northern MN at 18 to attend the U of MN and became a registered nurse. Esther was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Hannah Barrett; her husband, William Kraskin; son-in-law, Jonathan Waite; 7 siblings. Survived by daughters, Sandra Kraskin (Mike Sterling) and Cheryl (David) Best; grandchildren, Ryan (Christine) Best, Michael (Kama) Best, and Genevieve Waite (Oliver McRobbie); great grandchildren, Brooks, Emma, and Wyatt Best; sisters, Eleanor Arnold and Dorothy Whitson; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service on July 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM, with visitation a half hour prior, at the Lakewood Cemetery Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or take your children / grandchildren on an adventure in memory of Esther.
