Ebel, Mary Lou Ella 5/27/1930 - 6/28/2017 A remarkable woman was comforted and taken by our good Lord to be with him. She was greeted with open arms by her husband Gordy and children Millie Kay, Bruce, Joe and other beloved family members. Mary Lou was a world traveler and avid reader of books, particularly in the area of history. Mary Lou was an accomplished artist and slalom water-skier, loved cats throughout her lifetime, was a good seamstress, excellent cook, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good party. Mary Lou was loved by many in the multiple places she lived, including: Anoka, Ash River Trail, Orr, Hill City, Roatan, Honduras and Mesa, AZ. She and late husband Gordy Ebel co-founded Ebel's Voyageur Houseboats in northern Minnesota. Prior to owning the business, she was wonderful companion as a game warden's wife in her earlier years. Mary Lou is survived by two daughters, Noreen Luce (Dan Luce), Lauri Cutinella(Steve Cutinella); daughter in law's Katy Ebel and Kathy Ebel; grandchildren Darren Ebel, Dawn Krebs, Danielle Hitchins, Lauri Mayer, Justin Ebel, Alyssa Hayes, Stephanie Ebel, Quentin Miller, numerous great-grandchildren and her loving cat Odie; her in laws; Don Banta (Sandy Banta), Gloria Pedersen (Harold Pedersen), Kenny Ebel (Shirley Welch) and Debbie Ebel. She was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Marguerite Gonyea; husband Gordy;children Millie Kay, Bruce and Joe Ebel; brothers Kenneth and James and most recently, brother-in-law Dale Ebel. Special thanks to the wonerful caregivers at: Carefree Living (Orr), Osseo Gardens, Mercy Hospital, Interlude, J.A. Wedum Hospice. Mary Lou was a proud donor with the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Her gift will support medical research and, education. Per Mary Lou's wishes, there will be no service. Any memorials can be sent to American Heart and Stroke Associations. Mary Lou is a loving memory of a life so beautifully lived.
