Povaiba, Ann Ann, our beloved aunt, sister, friend left us on June 20, 2017. Though she had no children, she was like a mother to her nieces and nephew, and grandmother to grand nieces and grand nephews and mentor to thousands of her students. Ann was born in Keewatin, MN in 1925. She taught for 31 years at Brainerd High School, primarily teaching foods and culinary arts. Preceded in death by father Matt and mother Rose. Survived by sister Sophie Kucera, nieces Ann Palecek (Lowell) and Mary Enz (Dick) and nephew Jim Kucera (Lavonne), and 8 grand nieces and grand nephews John Palecek, Amy Spero, Anita Reutiman, David Palecek, Brittany Brown, Toria Kucera, Kevin Kucera and Peter Enz, and 8 great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews. She had many friends and enjoyed life. She will be missed by many. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 9:30 AM at the Boutwells Landing Chapel, 5600 Norwich Parkway, Oak Park Heights, visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
