Callahan Gerald J. ``Jerry'', age 81, of NE Mpls. Jerry was a life-long resident of Mpls and a loving husband and father. Jerry was a successful salesman all of his adult life. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to spend his free time at his cabin in northern Minnesota. Jerry is survived by his caring wife of 55 years, Mary; daughter, Patricia Koebnick & husband Ron; son, Greg Callahan & wife Roxanne; daughter, Peg Krahn & husband Dave; grandsons, Ray Shivers (Kim), Matt Shivers (Sherri) and Ryan Callahan; granddaughter, Andrea Callahan and great-granddaughter, Nicole Shivers. Also survived by sisters, Caroline Johnston, Mary Gustafson, Elsie Burwell, Marjorie Jacobson and brother, Tom. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Jerry was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for service during WWII, serving with the 7th Infantry, 3rd Division of the U.S. Army in the European Theater. Jerry wanted to be remembered as a man who loved his country and our flag. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 at the Cremation Society of MN 4343 Nicollet Ave S. Mpls 612-825-2435
