Johnson Ruth Martha (Leindecker), age 87, of Andover & Grand Rapids, passed away Jan. 29, 2002 after many years with Alzheimer's Disease. Survived by devoted husband of 62 years, James. Beloved mother of, Kathryne, Margaret (Doug), Lucy (Roosevelt) & Gerard (Cheryl). Also survived by grandchildren & great-grandchild; sister, Katherine (Al) Karras; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews & many dear friends. Born in Bird Island 7/29/14 to Henry & Martha Leindecker. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hardin & George. As a youth, she took part in sports & held a county track record for many years. After high school she moved to Mpls & married James in 1939. They moved to Grand Rapids in 1963. Ruth was a devoted homemaker & mother. Her hobbies were painting & flower gardening. In her love of animals, she participated in the family hobby of raising horses and acquired a high achievement level in dog training. Ruth courageously held on to her love for her family and friends throughout her illness and will be cherished by them forever. Mass of Resurrection Saturday, 11 am, Church of the Epiphany, 111th & Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids. Interment Epiphany Cemetery. Visitation Friday 6-8 pm with vigil prayers at 8 pm, Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd., Coon Rapids & one hour before Mass at church.
