Mildred Collier Andrus, passed away on Jan. 21, 2002. She was 96 years old. Preceded in death by husband, N. Llewellyn (Andy) Andrus; and daughter, Kathryn Andrus Cheney. Survived by 3 sons and their wives, Clinton G. Andrus (Margaret) of Bloomington, Burton C. Andrus (Mary) of Dripping Springs, TX and Nelson ``Bud'' Andrus (Judy) of Minnetonka; son-in-law, David Cheney of Colorado Springs; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Born and raised in Edina, she was an active member of Lake Harriet United Methodist Church serving as Women's Club President, Sunday School teacher, and a Trustee. She moved to California in 1957. While there, she served as President of the Soroptimist Club and was active in a family business until her 75th birthday. Returning to Minnesota in 1983, she became active in the Women's Club of Minneapolis where she enjoyed many friendships. She was a world traveler, an accomplished pianist, and an avid bridge player. Her sons agree she could not have been a better mother, grandmother or great-grandmother. The family wishes to thank the staffs at the Edina Care Center and Fairview Home Care and Hospice for their tender loving care and concern for Mildred. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday 1/29/02 at 1:00 PM with a gathering of family and friends ½ hour prior to the service at Lake Harriet UMC, 4901 Chowen Ave S., Mpls. Reception to follow. Private interment Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Soroptimist Village Foundation of Norwalk, California or to Lake Harriet UMC.
