Canter, Dr. Kenneth "Kenny" G. age 70, born and raised in Washington D.C., moved to Silver Spring, MD in 1958. Married Angela M. Eisenreich in 1981 at Mount Zion Temple, St. Paul, MN. Passed away peacefully at Regions Hospital following a 20 year battle with Spino Cerebellar Ataxia. Preceded in death by father Maurice Canter and mother Jeanette Kirsch Traum, stepfather Dr. Aaron Traum, brothers-in-law, Leonard "Lenny" Eisenreich and Gale Grosch. Survived by wife of 35 years, Angela "Angie" Canter; sons, Eric (Sarah) Canter and Dr. Keith (Brenna) Canter; brothers, Steven "Steve" (Virginia) Canter and Michael (Paulette) Canter; nieces, Melanie Canter and Arlene Canter-Bowen; nephews, David (Flor) Canter and Joel Canter; sister-in-law, Gloria Grosch. Kenny obtained a bachelor's degree from U of MD. and graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine (now associated with Temple University) in 1972. Kenny moved to St. Louis Park, MN in 1978, and was a pioneer Podiatrist at the V.A.M.C. in Minneapolis from 1978 - 2010, eventually becoming Chief of Podiatry. He was dedicated to the Podiatry profession and the veterans he served, as well as establishing a Residency Program. Kenny truly touched the lives and hearts of many people. He is well known to friends for his jokes, sports activities, and dedication to his family. Kenny had many lifelong friends and cherished their friendships dearly. When asked about what goals he had, his wish in life was to play "left field." Kenny's motto to live by was "it is what it is, but it will become what you make it." He will be truly missed, but memories of his life will live on through his friends and family. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. FRIDAY, May 19, 2017 at MOUNT ZION TEMPLE, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN.
