Munsell, William A. (Bill) Loving husband, father, and grandfather died at age 65 after a courageous fight with cancer, on Friday, April 21, 2017, at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona, surrounded by his devoted family. Bill was born March 1, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to O.F. and Jean (Holton) Munsell. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa. Bill is survived by Gail, his wife of 43 years; son Bryan and his wife, Hayley, and their children, Maxwell and Abigail; son Daniel and his wife Kelly and their son, William; brother, K.C. (Lisa); mother-in-law, Dorothy Klinkhammer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janis Gibson, Jill Briedenbach, Susan Bright, Lori (Bob) Ledoux, Lisa (Ron) Stark, Nick Klinkhammer, David (Sheri) Klinkhammer, Molly (Steve) Bjornsen; 22 nieces and nephews; 9 great-nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law. Bill enjoyed a distinguished business career beginning at Arthur Andersen. He held positions with Jostens, Genmar, and spent the last twenty years of his business life at UnitedHealth Group. Besides his business talents, Bill's strengths were his people skills, neologism, and a wicked sense of humor. While he was proud of his career, he was most proud of his family. He loved spending time with his sons and adored the special women that they brought into the family. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Arizona was Bill's "happy place" because it afforded him the opportunity to golf year round. Bill served on the board of Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners where he shared his talents with an organization whose mission he was passionate about. Plans are being made for a celebration of Bill's life on June 24 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Wayzata, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners (iocp.org) or Gilda's Club Twin Cities (gildasclubtwincities.org.) An additional notice with service times will run at a later date. David Lee Funeral Home Wayzata 952-473-5577 davidleefuneralhome.com
