Gilderhus, Virginia "Ginger" Rae (Root) (Previously Comstock) Age 77, of Eden Prairie. Beloved wife, mom, Grammy and friend. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on 2/1/17. Preceded in death by parents and son-in-law, Rick Lundgren. Survived by loving husband, Grant Gilderhus; children Jennifer (Rob) Koontz, Christopher (Sharri Melberg) Comstock and Leslie Lundgren; step-children Stephen (Sandy) Gilderhus, Timm Gilderhus, Sarah (Steven) Newman and Elizabeth (Troy) Skatrud; 15 adored grandchildren, one great-grandchild; former husband and friend John (Elsie) Comstock; many other dear friends. Proud alumna of Duluth Central High School class of '57, Gamma Omicron Beta sorority and University of Minnesota/Duluth class of '61. Creative and loving spirit who will be missed by everyone who knew her. She treated every person with kindness. In her memory, please take the time to be kind and present with the people around you. Special thanks to Frauenshuh Cancer Center at Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care. Celebration of life service at 11am on Saturday, April 29 at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5730 Grove St, Edina, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service and luncheon following, all at the church. Memorials preferred to Metropolitan Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing (micah.org), Simpson Housing Services (simpsonhousing.org) or Good Samaritan United Methodist Church (good.org).
