Joshua Logan Tilsen

Tilsen, Joshua Logan Born Jan 4, 1950, died April 18, 2017 of complications from a staph infection. Josh was a high energy, curious, affectionate, and wonderful person. He served our state for 30 years as a labor mediator and Commissioner for Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services. A strong believer in conflict resolution and public service, he loved his work. Prior to his career at BMS he was an officer and Business Agent with HERE Local 17. Prior to that was employed since the age of 14 in nearly every job he could put his hand to. A nurturing father to his three daughters, Rosalind, Sophia and Irene Katey. Loved and loving husband to wife of 31 years Faith Latimer. Our Josh had a huge heart and was an oak for the whole family. Josh's unexpected death blows a hole in our lives. He will be missed and remembered by many colleagues, members of the extended Tilsen clan, sisters Heather (Bob) Baum, Naomi, Hannah, nieces Jessica and Jennifer (Ron) Kenna, and his wife and daughters. Pre-deceased by dear brother Nick, mother Betty Rice Tilsen, father Ben and stepmother Peggy Nicholas Tilsen. Visitation and Shiva Thursday the 20th and Saturday the 22nd, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Overlook Condominiums, 1700 Lexington Ave South, Lilydale 55118. Memorial service TBA.
