Peterson, Richard I. Age 82 of Maple Grove, formerly of New Hope passed away on March 24th, 2017. Born September 29, 1934 in Ames, Iowa to David and Grayce Peterson. Graduated from Iowa State University in Chemical Engineering June 9th, 1956. Married Susan J. LaGrange on the evening of their graduation. Richard was on active duty in the Marines the next three years stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Following active duty, took a job in research with General Mills in Minneapolis. Retired 1991 after a long successful career. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Bob Peterson, survived by sister Karlyn Scott, wife Susan "of 60 years", daughters Deb (Jim) and Sandy (Ken), son Chris (Bich-Thu), 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral service Friday, March 31 at 11:00 AM, Gill Brothers New Hope Chapel, 7300 42nd Ave. N. with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
