Barbara Jean Bossus Bohrer, age 65, of St. Paul on January 4, 2002. Survived by husband of 42 years, Edward John; mother, Florence Tollefson Bossus Happke; son, Steve (wife Ann, children Clare, Nick); daughters, Therese (husband Charlie, children Joshua, Peter, Maria); Jacqueline Bossus; Amy (husband Harry, children Katherine, Barbara Jean); Barbara (husband Dennis, child Grace); adopted son, Jocival; brothers & sisters, Bob (Shirley); Sylvia; Alvin; Renee (Larry); David; Marie (Marn); Bea (Collin); uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her father, Emil, second father, George Happke, son, Edward John Jr., and cousin, Betty Stegora. Barbara received a BA in Dietetics - College of St. Catherine, an MA in Pastoral Studies - U of St. Thomas, and a Certification in Spiritual Direction from the Cenacle Retreat Center. In early life, Barbara was involved in Crow Wing Co. 4H and from 1957-1958 was Minnesota's Princess Kay of the Milky Way. In married life, she was a member of Jr League, JC Wives, a host family for teen mothers, international students, professional social workers, Cursillo, RCIA, National Assoc. of Catholic Chaplains and Assoc. of Profession Chaplains. Barbara worked as a homemaker, the coordinator of Lay Spiritual Formation at St. Paul's Seminary and a Chaplin at various hospitals and organizations. She trained spiritual directors at Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality and walked with many as a spiritual director. Visitation 4-8 PM Friday, Jan. 11, IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1550 Summit Ave., St. Paul. Funeral 1 PM Sat., Jan. 12, ST. LUKE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1079 Summit Ave., St. Paul.
