Gale Jeffrey Jennings Mitchell age 56 longtime resident of Mpls. died on Feb. 23rd. Born Fargo, ND on Nov. 3rd, 1960. Attended Mayo High School and graduated from U of MN (former art director of Minnesota Daily) with degree in Mass Commun-ication in 1991. Mitchell was management analyst with the Minnesota Dept. of Commerce for 13 years. Previously worked as data analyst for the Minnesota Dept. of Employment and Economic Development for 8 years and 16 years as a project director with the Minneapolis MERC and CCA supporting innovative youth employment projects. A musician, prolific artist, thoughtful and compassionate man, dedicated husband, good friend to many; fantastic cook, gardener, guitarist, lover of the outdoors, dogs & cats. Friends know Jeff as grandmaster, quickwit, soul brother, and Sensei. The hole he leaves in the world and our hearts is vast. Preceded in death by father Gale R. Mitchell and mother Corrine (Austin) Mitchell; Ibrahim Metaweh (father-in-law), Ruth Brevik (mother-in-law). Survived by loving wife Dina Metaweh; sisters Deborah Cassel, Janna Hassen; and brothers Gregg and Robb. Memorial will be held at Parkway Theater. 4814 Chicago Ave., Mpls 55417, Friday, March 3rd, 6:30 pm.
