Lucas, Robert Thomas Robert (Rob) Thomas Lucas had three priorities in life: his family, fishing and fishing. Born January 26, 1976, Rob saw more of the world, lived bigger and had more fun in his nearly 41 years than most people experience in twice that time. He died unexpectedly the weekend of January 14, 2017. Rob was born and spent most of his life in Wausau, Wisconsin. Son of Roger and Lis Lucas, he was an avid outdoorsman who spent his days trying to find the next great fishing spot. He loved spending and sharing the outdoors with his family and friends. Rob was a natural when it came to creating lasting friendships -- part of what made him a successful business man. Rob made friends wherever he went, from local community members in Victoria or near his cabin by Hayward, Wisconsin; to business people in Shanghai or Russia. More than fishing, the outdoors, or anything else, Rob loved his family. He is survived by his two sons, Owen (3) and Mason (1) and his beautiful wife Laura (Weinzierl). Rob is also survived by his grandmother Evelyn Lucas, grandfather Bill Van Cleve, step grandmother Diana (Dee) Van Cleve, grandmother Nancy Van Cleve. Other survivors include his parents Roger and Lisa Lucas; four sisters, Laura (Jay) Leher, Carly (Brian) Tepper, MacKenzie Lucas (Dan Polenska), and Samantha Lucas; and his brother Chris (Liz) Lucas. Rob also leaves behind 11 nieces and nephews who all adored and idolized their Uncle Rob. Rob's family will receive friends at St. Victoria Church, 8228 Victoria Dr, Victoria, Minnesota 55386, on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 10:00 AM to noon. A celebration of his life will follow at noon at St. Victoria. A reception will be held following the service from 1:30-4:00 PM at COV Wayzata, 700 East Lake Street Wayzata, Minnesota 55391. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit Owen and Mason: The Robert Lucas Memorial Account c/o KleinBank, P.O. Box 35, Victoria, MN 55386.
