Trosvig, Roy W. age 96, of Crystal passed away peacefully attended by family on January 16, 2017. Preceded in death by Ruth Janette, his loving wife of 69 years, parents Ottin and Clara Trosvig, sisters Ellen, Hazel, Florence, Olga, and Beverly, brothers Clarence and Kenneth, and grandson Matthew Trosvig. Survived by sons Thomas (Patricia) Trosvig, Kodiak, AK; Jon (Linda) Trosvig, Maple Grove, MN; Ronald Trosvig, Bloomington, MN; Donald (Nancy) Trosvig, Eden Prairie, MN; daughter Bonnie (Edward) Rippberger, Maple Grove, MN; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A U.S. Navy veteran and survivor of the 1944 sinking of the aircraft carrier USS Princeton (CVL-23) in the Philippine Sea, Roy was decorated for serving in nine major battles in the South Pacific during WWII. He was Credit Manager and on the Board of Directors at Despatch Oven Co for 44 years. A steadfast, loving husband and father; and a hard-working, patriot in the finest traditions of the Greatest Generation. Funeral Service Monday, Jan. 23 at Calvary Lutheran Church of Golden Valley. Visitation 10-11, Service at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Calvary Lutheran or the Heart Assoc. Private burial planned for at Glen Haven Cemetery, Crystal, MN.
