Becker, Rosella "Rose" Catherine age 87 of St. Michael, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, December 8, 2016. She was born on October 3, 1929 in Cologne, Minnesota, the daughter of Anton "Tony" Catherine (Laumann) Bongaarts. Rose is a 1949 graduate from Norwood-Young America High School. She was very active in many church ministries, CCW member, foreign exchange student Mom, 4-H leader, and foster parent. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, traveling, singing in church choirs, and especially spending time with her family; she was a wonderful homemaker. On June 23, 1953 Rose Bongaarts and Don Becker were united in holy matrimony at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Shakopee, now known as The Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne, by Father Marvin Klaers. Preceded in death by parents, Tony and Catherine Bongaarts; daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Bob Dehmer; granddaughter, Robyn Lynn Dehmer; siblings, Greg Bongaarts, Delores Weber, Gordon Bongaarts; and siblings-in-law, Edwin "Eddie" Weber, Roman Becker. Survived by her husband of 63 years, Deacon Don Becker of St. Michael; children, Debbie Dehmer of Rogers, Jan (Murray) Nord of Rogers, Gerard (Kim) Becker of Long Prairie, Paul (Cheryl) of Glencoe, Rollie (Nickole) of Rogers; grandchildren, Tami (Ben) Reiners, Craig and Lindsey Dehmer, Danielle and Lesa Nord, Elizabeth, Teresa, Katherine, Johanna, Anthony (Christina), Margaret, Regina, Kristina and Rachel Becker, Nicole and Felicia (Howie) Becker; great-grandchildren, Donovan Reiners, Cora Becker; sister, Donna Becker; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation (TODAY) Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM, The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, December 12, 2016, 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael with Father Peter Richards as celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Michael Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
