Fagrelius, Margaret J. Age 96, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2016. Beloved mother of James (Susen), Stuart (Rosemary), and Tom (Carole), and beloved grandmother of Helen, Alan (Lauren), John, Teddy, Peter, and Katherine (Sam) Sevenich. Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Carl, and 2 siblings, James and Danny. Margaret was the youngest of three children of James and Matilda Nesby, born and raised in Dell Rapids, SD. She attended So Dak State U where she met the love of her life, Carl. While separated from Carl by WWII, she contributed to the cause by teaching flyboys Morse code at the nearby air base. She and Carl were married in 1942 when he was on leave from duty in Alaska. After the war she and Carl lived in exotic locales such as Schenectady, NY and Fergus Falls, MN, where he was stationed by his employer, General Electric Co. They ultimately settled in southwest Minneapolis where they lived for 54 years raised their 3 sons. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church and active in number of civic and charitable organizations including PEO. Her many interests included golf, oil painting, cooking, playing bridge, and especially gardening. After Carl died, Margaret moved to senior living at 7500 York, Edina, where her patio garden seemed to win first place almost every year. In September She moved to Highlands on River Road in St. Paul to be closer to her children. Margaret loved all her friends including all the HAFLEs on West 54th and later her new friends at 7500 York. But her biggest love was her family. She annually organized FROG camp activities which were reunions that pulled her sons, daughter-in-law's, and grand-children together for fun, food, and love. Margaret had a special bond with her grandchildren. There was mutual devotion of her to them and vice-versa, and she will be dearly missed. A special thank you to the loving hospice staff at the Carondelet Community in St. Paul where Margaret completed her journey. Her funeral will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 14th at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. (5025 Knox Ave. S., Minneapolis) with visitation one hour prior. Interment following at Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Highland Friendship Club of St. Paul.
