Sinder, Ann P. Age 98, passed away October 14 at Saint Therese of New Hope, formerly of Whiting, Ind. Survived by daughter Carolyn Ann (Richard) Walsko; granddaughter Alexis Walsko; sister Kay Motush; former daughter-in-law Ann Sinder. Preceded in death by husband Julius, son Gerald Sinder and sister Helen Guarino. In her younger years, Ann was known for her bold red hair and feisty personality. She was often the life of the party and was known to dazzle those around her with her singing, piano and dancing on the table skills. She had a gift for sales and was a long time top associate at The Mademoiselle Shoppe in Indiana Harbor from where she retired after more than 30 years. In retirement she was president of the Whiting Senior Citizens Association for many years. She had a flair for fashion and an impressive collection of beautiful hats and furs and together with her husband Julius created intricate crochet designs, which were sold at local craft shows. In 1998 she mourned the passing of her husband Julius and son Gerald just two months apart, but her faith, determination and positive outlook guided her through this time. She was proud to be independent and very active. In 2010 she moved to Saint Therese in New Hope, Minn. where she was known for singing and dancing with other residents and for the bright flower she wore in hair every day. Ann spent her final 98th birthday with her family and beloved sister Kay where she smiled and laughed.
