Borghild Gudrun 'Goodie' Brauer

Brauer, Borghild Gudrun "Goodie" passed away October 6, 2016 at home. Born October 27, 1930 to Daniel and Gunda Erickson in Montevideo, MN. She attended Hanley Falls, MN high school and Miss Woods Education Academy now a part of Macalester College. She taught school in Bird Island, Chisholm and Springfield, MN. She married Donald Brauer on June 16, 1956 and had three children, Mark (Elizabeth) Brauer, Sonja Brauer Milstead (Steve Sharp) and Susan (Daniel) Brauer Mickelberg; three grandchildren, Daniel (Savanna) Brauer, Dr. David Brauer and Laura Brauer; two great-grandchildren Harriet and Oswin Donald Brauer. She loved music and playing the piano. She loved people, her faith and was surrounded by good friends. Preceded in death by her husband Donald, parents and an infant sister. Survived by her children, grand and great grandchildren, her sister Doris Koenen, cousin Larry (Linda Sallee) Molsather. Services will be Tuesday October 11, 2016 at noon with visitation at 11 am at Norman-dale Lutheran, 6100 Normandale Rd, Edina, MN. Visitation also Monday, October 10, 5-7 PM AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church (known as Mindekirken) or Normandale Center for Healing and Wholeness or Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, Decorah.
