Kester, Dan age 68 of Minneapolis, MN passed away peacefully in his home on August 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by parents Arden Kester in 2000 and Margaret "Betty" Kester in 2006. Dan is survived by wife, Irene Grossbach of Minneapolis, MN; sons, James (Heather) Kester of Rochester, MN and Steven Kester of Columbia Heights, MN; step-daughter, Anna Grossbach of Minneapolis, MN; brothers, Tom (Barbara) Kester of Menasha, Wisconsin and David (Karen) Kester of Deland, Florida; sister, Kathy (John) Marks of Salem, Oregon; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Dan was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. Growing up in Fremont, Wisconsin made Dan a life long Green Bay Packer Fan. He enjoyed staying active by walking around the Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet areas where he lived. He also enjoyed working with stained glass, collecting clocks and collecting books. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A celebration of Dan's life will be held in his hometown of Fremont, Wisconsin in October and a memorial will be placed in Dan's honor in the Lyndale Rose Garden along Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, one of Dan's favorite places. Memorials may be directed to the family.
