Burleigh, Donn C. Age 70, of Mpls., passed away August 21, 2016. Preceded in death by parents. Donn was a Renaissance man of many talents, a life-long learner, and perpetually projected a sense of wonderment in his intelligent, beautiful blue eyes. Donn died after a two-year struggle with a rare and very progressive form of Parkinson's disease. He died as he lived, with tremendous courage and grace. Survived by the love-of-his-life and husband, Mark Heymans; brother, Kent (Monica) Burleigh; sister, Betsy (Richard) Lano; parents-in-law, Paul and Joan Heymans; brothers-in-law, Dean (Diana) Heymans, David (Debra) Heymans, Joseph (Cynthia) Heymans, James (Mary) Heymans and Scott (Kathleen) Heymans; sisters-in-law, Antoinette (Daniel) Ritacco and Mary Jo (David) Noer); best friend, David Lage; loving nieces and nephews; and many other dear and loving relatives and friends. Memorials preferred to Mount Olivet Careview Home where Donn taught residents how to use a computer or Friends of the Hennepin County Library in honor of his insatiable love of literature. A private memorial service for family and friends is being planned for October 1, 2016.
