Stiegler, Alan L. age 90 of St. Louis Park, passed away August 23, 2016. Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, a man of great accomplishments with high principals. He graduated from North High where he received the Mercury Club Award for his academic and athletic achievements. He was drafted at age 18 and served in the US Army during WWII and fought through the Siegfried Line and the Battle of the Bulge. When he returned from the service he attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from law school. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and was instrumental in raising funds to help start the Minneapolis Jewish Community Center, Alan was an avid sportsman, enjoying all types of outdoor sports and international travel with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Rose Stiegler. Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ione; children Beth Puchtel (Scott), Paul (Jill) and Ira (Sally); 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Farrell (Kathleen) and Mayo (Sheree). Funeral service 2:30 pm FRIDAY at BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5225 Barry St. West, St. Louis Park. In lieu flowers, memorials preferred Stiegler Family Fund at Beth El Syn or the Alzheimer's Association.
