Werner, William born July 2, 1923 in Ressnig, Austria, died peacefully in Fridley, Minnesota on August 17, 2016 at the age of 93. Bill and his father and mother, Philip and Theresa (nee Tuerk), immigrated to the United States when he was 12 and established their home on Prospect Street in Racine, Wisconsin. Bill served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in World War II from 1941 to 1945, worked at Webster Electric in Racine and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1954. He was an aerospace engineer at Honeywell, Inc. in Minneapolis for 35 years. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Naja (nee Roslak); son, William, Jr. of Minneapolis; daughter, Nancy of St. Paul; and sister, Phyllis Reisenauer of Racine, Wisconsin. There was a brief service in Bill's room at White Pine Senior Living shortly after his death, with the Reverend Lonnie Titus officiating. Bill's body was donated to the University of Minnesota for research. A celebration of his life is planned for this fall. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
