R. David Kemper

Kemper R. David Kemper, 83 of Naples Florida died Wednesday, 10/15/2003 at his home. Dave was born Dec. 18, 1919 in Spring Grove, York County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Ralph L. and Mabel A.(Moul) Kemper. He graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following college he proudly served in the U S Navy during World War II and the Korean War and also spent many years with the Naval Reserves in York, PA. A Commander when he left the service and began his working career designing air conditioning systems for York Corporation. Then moved into sales in 1957 for McQuay-Perfex International in Plymouth, MN where he retired as Executive V. P. of Sales and Marketing in 1983 before moving to Naples. Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife for 61 years, Dorthy L. (Magor) Kemper who died 01/25/2003. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his four children, Suzanne L. Dawson, and her husband, James Douglas of Wheat Ridge, CO, Jane M, Kemper, of Naples, David M. Kemper and his wife, Coleen of Germantown, TN, and Michael C. Kemper and his wife Janice of Bloomington, MN, 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Jennifer, David, Andrew, Stephanie, James and Jacqueline, 2 great grandchildren, Hayden and Sophie. Sisters, Ruth Quickel and her husband, James of York, PA and Mary Ann Curry and her husband, Thomas of Vienna, VA. Memorial Services will be on Thursday 10/23/2003 2PM at Johnson-Pittman Funeral Home, 4424 East Tamiami Trail, Naples, FL (239) 774-3444. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
